New Information:

We are bringing back by popular demand the Installation Dinner. It will be held September 25th, a Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. (no-host bar) with dinner served at 7:00. It will be at Country Gentleman way out on Clearwater and you must register ahead of time. Cost will be $20 per ticket and the meal choices include beef and chicken. Spouses and friends are invited. As well as installing the new Kennewick Kiwanis team with John Givens as president, this event will also honor our past year's achievements.

Welcome to our Meetings

----Regular business meetings are held each Tuesday at 12 noon. We meet at Leo’s Catering/Blue Moon Restaurant, 20 N. Auburn Street, Kennewick, WA.

----Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, at 12 noon, on the 4th floor of the Clover Island Inn, 435 Clover Island Dr, Kennewick, WA.

Committee meetings are scheduled by each committee.

Future Meeting Schedule

----September 2: Football coaches Craig Beverlin (KaHS) and Bill Templeton (KHS) will talk about the new league alignment and share prospects for their respective teams.

----September 9: Rufus Friday, TCH Publisher, will share the “ins and outs” of the newspaper business.

----September 16: Since Sunday was Grandparents Day, club members will share grandparent stories. The best stories will receive small prizes.

----September 23: Doug Sutherland, State Lands Commissioner is bringing a power point presentation about the “Great Flood of ‘07” in the Centralia / Chehalis area of the state. Guests are welcome.

----September 30: Cathy Merrill – Holle and staff will discuss the workings of the Volunteer Center and the community projects they coordinate.

2008 Kiwanis Programs

-Reporting Make-Up Meetings
“Make-ups” can be achieved by attending other Kiwanis club meetings, board meetings, interclub meetings, conventions, conferences, and other Kiwanis-sponsored organizations and activities. Make-ups must be made within four weeks prior to, or following, the month in which the absence occurs. Make-up information must be submitted within four weeks of the missed meeting and attending the meeting or activity. Make-up meeting information must be submitted in writing – either presented at a club meeting or via e-mail submitted to the Club Secretary.

Make-up meeting information must contain the following information:

1. Member name
2. Activity attended
3. Date
4. Hours of participation (project activities).

Providing Scholarships for Youth in the Greater Kennewick Area

The Kennewick Kiwanis Foundation, created in 1997 by Red Rutherford and Dick Petersen, awards scholarships to Tri-City high school students for university study.
The Kennewick Kiwanis Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes.  Our ideals are to assist and support the youth of our area through scholarship and youth services.  The Foundation seeks to help create opportunities for our youth, regardless of age, sex, race, or physical and mental abilities. Students graduating from the following local high schools are eligible.

  • Kennewick High School
  • River View High School
  • Kamiakin High School
  • Southridge High School
